Welcome to The World's Columbian Exposition!
You have entered into a study of one of the most important events in the history of Chicago. Within this assignment you will be examining and analyzing specific events and artifacts surrounding the fair. The goal of this study is to help us understand the impact of the Fair on Chicago.
In groups of three or four you will be asked to study one of the three areas of interest: The Innovations, The White City vs. The Midway, and The Black City. Within each area, you will examine images to help you understand the importance and impact on the city.
To begin all group members must watch the following video.

Steps of the Assignment
1. Sit with your group members. You will be assigned an area of study and given a worksheet to facilitate your study. To begin, you will work individually but can always ask your group members questions.
2. After you have been assigned your role, you will follow the directions on the worksheet using the Weebly site. You will have roughly 25 minutes to complete your area of study. Your goal is to complete all the steps of your assignment (through the "final thoughts") by the end of class. Anything that is not completed by the end of class will be homework.
3. As a group, you will share the "final thoughts" questions from your worksheet to teach the other members in your group about your area of study. The other members in your group will take notes on your findings.
4. As a group, you will come up with a consensus of whether the World's Columbian Exposition had a positive or negative impact on Chicago and the world.
5. As a class, we will discuss the findings.
